The West Valley Historical Society was founded in 1998 when
the West Valley City Civic Committee divided into the Historical Society and
the Sister City Committee. The WVHS is
charged with preserving and sharing the history of the area covered by today’s
city boundaries. These duties included
maintaining the city’s Hall of Fame, acting as the liaison between the city and
the Utah Historical Society, and participating as an auxiliary of the city’s
Cultural Arts Board (CAB).

The Board of Directors for the WVHS meets on the third
