Frequently Asked Questions about re-opening

Are people required to wear mask to enter the facility?
It is highly recommended. However patrons are not required to wear mask inside the facility.
Am I going to get screened before entering the facility?
Yes, our staff will ask you some simple health questions prior to entering the facility. Please, be patient and understand this is for the safety everyone entering the facility and is required by the state and county health departments. 
When will things change?
When we enter into a new phase we will reevaluate what needs to be done in order to operate to the best of our ability to serve in a safe environment. 
When are we opening? What hours will we be open?
We are opening on a limited basis on Monday, May 11. Facility hours will be:

Mon-Fri 5 AM-10 PM

Saturday 6:30 AM-9 PM

Sunday 10:30 AM-5 PM

Facility hours are subject to change based on facility use. 
Will my membership start again when the Family Fitness Center re-opens? 
Yes. Memberships paid in full will be extended for the duration of our closure. Memberships with monthly bank drafts will continue again beginning May 20, then June 5. We understand that because some areas of the facility are not available, you may want to continue to freeze your membership. Please contact Brooke at brooke.harmon@wvc-ut.gov or 801-955-4005 to continue to freeze your membership. We will allow “freeze” only until all facility areas are reopened. 
What facility areas are open? 
Cardio, weight room, gymnasium, lap pool (lap swimming only), indoor track single file (inner lane for running, outer lane for walking) and racquetball are open, with restrictions and limitations. Edutainment, rock wall, leisure pool, water slide and hot tub are closed.  Childcare is closed to the public.  No open plunge in the pools at any time.
Snack bar will be open with limited offerings. Cash will not be accepted. 
What are the restrictions? 
Limited numbers will be allowed in each activity area. 6 foot social distancing must be followed, increased to 10 feet during exercise in cardio, weight room and pool.   
Pieces of equipment which will be allowed will be reduced and spaced apart far enough to allow for 10 foot distancing. Weight room will be limited to selectorized pieces only, no free weights or plate loaded pieces. Some weight pieces will moved to the lobby to maximize availability. 
The basketball gym will be available, for individual shooting only, no games allowed. 10 foot social distancing must be followed at all times. Basketballs must be brought from home, we will not be providing balls or other equipment. 
Lobby games (table tennis, foosball and air hockey) will be available for use, but equipment will not be provided. Tables will be disinfected after each group use. 
Racquetball courts may be used, only one person per court. Equipment will not be available for use. 
 
Is it safe to come? 
We are opening on a limited basis and closely following guidelines set by the state and county health departments. We will be frequently cleaning and disinfecting equipment and will require facemasks worn by all staff . 
 
How can I pay? 
Cash is not allowed. We will accept credit/debit cards or personal checks only at this time. Parents may call our front desk to put money on account for their kids with a credit card. As a City, we cannot accept any electronic transfers such as venmo or paypal. 
Can I drop off my children? 
Children under the age of 14 may not be left in the facility unattended. They may come with a responsible adult (18+) and appropriately participate in activities available. Kidz Kamp is available for children age 5-12 please check our website or front desk for information about program registration and fees. 
What is the schedule for group exercise classes (land and water)? 
Group exercise classes cannot be offered at this time. Please watch for more classes to do from home, which will be posted to our Facebook page. 
Which recreation programs will be offered at this time? 
Kidz Kamp will be offered during this time period. Extra precautions are taken to protect kids and staff with additional cleaning and hand washing throughout the day. Face shields covering the nose and mouth will be worn by staff and are encouraged for kids in the program. 
Additional programs will resume when we can do so safely.
