West Valley City English Initiative

In 2011, former West Valley City Mayor Mike Winder and Council Member Steve Buhler have prepared a proclamation encouraging all residents of West Valley City to learn English in an effort to unify the community. Read a copy of the proclamation (PDF). The following is a list of groups offering English classes to the community. West Valley City does not endorse any of these providers; this list is provided as a courtesy. If you are a provider of English classes and would like to be added to the list, please provide your information.

West Valley City residents, or individuals that attend classes in West Valley City, who successfully complete an English class will be recognized with a Certificate of Achievement from the City at a City Council meeting in the spring or fall. Please have your instructor notify the City of your successful completion by calling 801-963-3220 or via email.

Local businesses and other organizations wishing to support those learning English may download and display a poster encouraging individuals to practice with you. Download the poster (PDF).
